When you sit down to enjoy a meal (and I mean really ENJOY a meal) whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner, are you going to do a lot of exercise? Of course NOT! So then why would you want to cram meal-sized amounts of calories into your digestive system when you're trying to perform exercise? And that goes ESPECIALLY for all you endurance athletes out there...

We've been conditioned to think we need to have all these external calories because that's where our manmade focus is, our manmade construct, and by thinking about these metrics - that we need X amount of calories - we naturally look to the external solution and we've completely forgotten about the internal solution: those tens of thousands of calories that we have on our body that should be providing most of the energy we need to perform optimally.

Let’s take a look at the math…

Because we've been conditioned to do so, we look on the back of a gel and see it has 100 calories. So, we do the math - four gels times one hundred calories per serving… that's 400 calories, which is “what we need” on the bike in a triathlon. We need maybe two or three hundred on the run. Whether a runner or a cyclist, we want to get four to six hundred calories per hour.

We're constantly doing this math (all part of that manmade construct), while forgetting about the mystery and magic of nature, because a lot of those physiological processes even the best scientists don't completely understand, and because you can't monetize it. I mean, you can't sell somebody their own fat, right?

YOUR Metabolic Engine

Well we've kind of left out the marketing of our own bodies… And that's what I'm here to do today. I'm here to market you. I'm here to market your natural physiology. I'm here to market the marvel of your liver and how it is the metabolic engine  (when you're fat adapted) to send those thousands of calories you ingested last night right back out to fuel your performance the next day.

Why would you want to take in all those calories, risk that GI distress, feel bloated and full and have it slow down your performance when your body is actually meant to release thousands of calories to give you the energy you need, or at least most of the energy you need, to perform at your highest level and reach your health and performance potential?

Think about that.
