Stephen Losey's story is one of transformation. Growing up as an active child, his life changed dramatically when his family moved to an urban setting. The shift to a sedentary lifestyle led to weight gain and a lack of confidence in athletics. Despite this, Stephen dabbled in sports like shot put and football during his school years, but with limited success.
After high school, where he weighed 275 pounds, Stephen's journey into running began in college. He lost about 50 pounds, but fluctuating weight remained a challenge, especially as he shifted between physically demanding and sedentary jobs. At 35, with two young children, he realized the need for a change when he struggled to keep up with them. This realization prompted Stephen to start running seriously, leading to his participation in marathons and triathlons, even completing an Ironman. However, despite these accomplishments, he still felt unfit and recognized the need to address his nutrition.
Stephen's exploration of nutrition led him to the ketogenic diet, which showed promising results. However, he sensed something was missing and continued his search, eventually discovering Optimized Fat Metabolism (OFM). Embracing OFM under the guidance of Peter, Stephen experienced significant improvements in his athletic performance. He successfully qualified for the Boston Marathon and began seeing changes in his body that he hadn't seen since childhood.
Stephen's journey highlights the importance of a holistic approach to fitness, combining physical activity with proper nutrition and a sustainable lifestyle. His experience demonstrates the power of perseverance, adaptability, and the willingness to embrace new methods for personal growth and health.
